Senior Leadership Team


Ian Clarke, CEO

Ian joined Fronde in 1999. He has broad business experience in the gas, agriculture, broadcasting and television production industries. With an MBA from Otago University and a diverse background including farming and general management and operational experience among major New Zealand corporates, Ian took over the national operations role in October 2003 and became GM, New Zealand South in November 2005. He was appointed CEO in April 2008. Ian was elected to the NZICT Board in July 2010. Board members represent the diversity of the NZICT membership and assist with the industry's growth and economic development plans, both in terms of productivity improvements in the domestic economy and growth in export revenues.


Mandy Simpson, CFO

Mandy Simpson joined Fronde in July 2010.  She is a Chartered Accountant with 15 years experience in New Zealand and the UK, working for organisations such as Deloitte, the London Stock Exchange and Accenture. Mandy's experience includes finance, operations management, risk management and strategic planning.  She has an MA in Law from Cambridge University.


Stu Cordue, General Manager, North

Stu joined Fronde in May 2003 continuing an extensive career in the information technology industry that includes 15 years in sales and sales management with Unisys in New Zealand and Australia. Stu is accountable for the operations and client relationships for North. Stu holds a BCA majored in Business Administration from Victoria University and has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Commercial Law, Accounting and Mandarin during 2000/2001.


Helen Mills, Marketing and Communications Manager

Helen joined Fronde in February 2010. Helen is an experienced marketer with 14 years experience, primarily in FMCG, Telecommunications and IT organisations. A large part of her career has been working with iconic brands including Colgate Palmolive and Telecom. Helen has a BCA from Victoria University.


Clive Truman, General Manager Australia, Sales Manager NZ South

Clive joined Fronde in 2006 after 5 years with IBM.  He has over 20 years experience in the IT sector predominantly in sales and business development. Clive is accountable for Fronde Australia, the southern region sales team and for managing our partnership with Google Inc.


Kate Shafto, HR Manager

Kate joined Fronde in July 2010 and her role is to lead the development and implementation of people strategies to support the organisation's business goals and create a great place to work. Kate has 15 years experience in her field in the private, public and consulting sectors. Kate has an Honours degree in Psychology from Victoria University.

Paul Armstrong, Strategy Services Manager

Paul's focus is on solution architecture especially as it relates to mission critical and enterprise wide solutions. He has been working in ICT for over 20 years, 17 of which have been with Fronde. In this time Paul has worked in many industries, most recently the New Zealand electricity industry, supply chain, and computer service industries for US and UK clients who have mission critical requirements that need to be met with highly scalable and highly available solutions.

James Valentine, Strategy Services Manager

James is one of New Zealand's leading experts in cloud computing - having delivered a number of complex cloud-centric solutions for customers. He leads a team of Principal Consultants out of Fronde's Auckland office whose role is to help bring their broad technical expertise to bear on clients' technology challenges. James joined Fronde in 2004 and since then has architected or project managed solutions across a range of technologies and platforms for various New Zealand organisations. He has worked in the United Kingdom as a Development Manager and Technical Architect; and as a consultant for Accenture in Wellington. He has a Bachelor of Technology degree from Massey University in Manufacturing and Industrial Technology.
