Google Search Boosts Economy
Are you Googling? Then you are most likely helping to boost the global economy, according to the latest report by McKinsey & Company entitled 'The Impact of Internet technologies: Search'.
With the average US Internet user performing 1,500 searches a year, it's clear that search has changed the way we operate in our day to day lives. Technology is usually taken for granted meaning its value is often underestimated. In this new study McKinsey identifies the value of search, in what they believe to be a "conservative" estimate. "Analysis showed that search activity had measurable impact approaching gross annual value of $780 billion in 2009... making each single search worth around $.50".
So let's get Googling!
